FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE SAGRADA FAMILIA IN ICE

Some first impressions of the Sagrada Familia in Ice. The pictures show how the design will be situated on the building site of Tulikivi.

The appearance of the ice structure during the night will be different from the appearance in day time. At night the domes will be lit from the inside, which will make the domes appear to be illuminating.

EXPERIENCE DAY AT EINDHOVEN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

On the 18th of May we had a stand at the 'Publieksdag' (Experience day) at the Eindhoven University of Technology. This day is introduced to show the public, mostly children and their parents, what kind of projects the University is working on. It's a great way to introduce technology to youth.

To promote our project we had a cooled container  with an inflatable membrane mounted to it. Inside the container we had an icebar and some "cool" stuff for the kids. Outside the inflatable we had an experiment with Pykrete. First the kids were asked to trow a plain/ normal ice sample on the ground and secondly they were asked to trow a Pykrete sample. The experiments proved that Pykrete is a lot stronger then plain ice.
